Top Ten - About Blink 182

Who are Blink 182?
A pop punk band formed in 1992 by guitarist Tom Delonge and bassist Mark Hoppus. First drummer was Scott Raynor. Formally known as Blink, they had to change their name to avoid a lawsuit from an Irish band with the same name.

Later on in 1997, Scott decided to leave the band to pursue his education, so new drummer Travis Barker joined. Since then, they have come out with 6 LPs. In 2005, the band took a break to spend more time with their families.

Tom Delonge
Tom was born Thomas Matthew Delonge, jr., on December 13 1975 in Poway California. He discovered punk on a holiday in Oregon, when he went to visit a friend. This friend was heavily into punk, and introduced Tom to bands such as Stiff Little Fingers, Dinosaur Jr., and The Descendents. Despite having previously thought punk was nothing but fast noise, Tom fell in love with the sounds he heard. Shortly after high school, Tom got together with his pal, Mark, formed a band called Blink, & the rest of the story tells itself. Tom is known for his sick, twisted mind & fascination with aliens and conspiracies. He currently lives in Encinitas, CA, & spends his free time with his wife, Jen.

Mark Hoppus
Mark was born on March 15, 1972 in San Diego. He is an American musician and record producer. Hoppus was one of the founding members of the pop punk band Blink-182 and the pop punk/alternative band +44. He plays bass guitar and provides vocals. As of late, Hoppus has produced albums for groups like Idiot Pilot, New Found Glory, The Matches, and Motion City Soundtrack.

Travis Barker
Travis was born November 14, 1975 in Fontana, California. In 1998, Travis replaced Blink 182's first drummer and came to the band’s rescue at one show by learning over twenty songs in just a few hours and performing with them later that evening. Travis quickly became a much respected and popular member of the band and solidified his position as the timekeeper with his professional attitude, rhythmic skills and talent.
